Tuition and Aid
Tuition for the 2010-2011 school year is $25,450. The 2010-2011 Early Start Preschool Tuition is $12,700. Financial Aid is available to families who qualify.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Financial Aid Program at Centreville School is to provide assistance to our parents who are in need of such aid in order to meet the cost of their child’s tuition. Qualification for aid is determined by the Financial Aid Committee. In awarding aid, the Committee takes into account the family size, ages and schools of children, additional dependents, all sources of income, debts and unusual expenses.
Each year the school receives a large number of requests for financial aid. The applications are reviewed by the Financial Aid Committee. Each year, the Committee strives to allocate the available financial aid funds to where they are most needed. Approximately 28% of the student body receives some degree of financial aid.
Procedure:
Parents are asked to fill out Centreville School’s financial aid application as well as the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) application which is a service of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). More information can be obtained and the application can be reviewed at www.nais.org.
All parents will be required to furnish the Financial Aid Committee with a copy of their most recent Tax returns (1040 with all schedules) and copies of W-2 form(s) before a financial aid award is given.
In the case of divorced or separated parents, the income and assets of both parents, if living, will be considered before making an award. Tax returns from both parents must be submitted. If one parent is not involved or responsible for tuition, a statement to that effect by a third party in a professional capacity, who is aware of the situation may be substituted for the financial documents from that parent.
All of the Financial Aid forms should be received by the specific deadline. Current Centreville School students will be processed first, followed by new students. All applications are processed on a first come first served basis.
Financial aid is not automatically renewable. Each family must reapply for financial aid each year. In order to reapply, the family must meet all current school financial obligations.
